offers the serious trophy hunter excellent opportunities to hunt on
one of South Africa's finest private game ranches. We specialize in trophy plains-game on our
own exclusive private ranch of 2,100 hectares of open African Bushveld, well stocked with 17
different species of game. Good quality trophies are in abundance and we also have concessions
available throughout Southern Africa for species not found in the area.
 Morakane Safari Lodge conducts its hunting operation in the North West Province of South
Africa near the city of Schweizer-Reneke. This area has varied vegetation of open grassland,
woodland characterised by camelthorn and "withaak" trees and ironstone "koppies" (small hills).
The terrain ranges from mountainous grasslands to thick thorn and indigenous forests.
Morakane Safari Lodge caters for hunters and family safari holidays. Families are welcome to
join the hunters on their safaris.
Accommodation at Morakane Safari Lodge consists of luxury lodges with bathrooms en suite.

while allowing enough time and space to relax. You can choose from many activities such as a
rifle hunting, bow hunting, guided bush walks, game drives, swimming or just relaxing in the
warm African sun. Take your time to watch the wild animals roaming free on our exclusive
ranch. A rich diversity of fauna and flora will entice any nature lover.

 An abundance of plains game roam this North West Province game ranch and these include the
following, Springbuck, Blesbuck, White Blesbuck, Zebra, Gemsbuck (Oryx), Red Hartebeest,
Black Wildebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Impala, Ostrich, Mountain Reedbuck, Eland, Kudu, Waterbuck,
Steenbuck, Duiker, Warthog.
We offer a wide variety of game species in our exciting packages, but other game is also
available should you so require. Tailor made safari packages can be arranged to suit
individual needs or requirements, be it for the first time hunter or the discerning hunter
looking for a specific species or trophy. Family hunts are also most welcome.
All clients will be collected at the Johannesburg International Airport and transported to
the ranch, which is approximately 3 hours drive away.
We cater for all forms of hunting to meet your requirements. Rifle and bow hunters can
enjoy the challenge of a real African hunting challenge. We only offer fair chase (Walk and
Stalk), no shooting from vehicles or shooting at night with a spotlight will be allowed.
Hunting is conducted throughout the year, but the best period is from May to September.
During this time weather is agreeable, with days mild to warm and early mornings and evenings
cool to cold. Temperatures is between 32F and up to 110F in the summer.
We recommend 7mm and bigger for plains game and .375 for the Big Five. A temporary
import/export permit will be issued upon arrival at Johannesburg International Airport.
 Our team of Professional Hunters will take you for a superb hunting experience with the
weapon of your choice.
Morakane Safari Lodge caters for rifle, handgun, bow (traditional and
modern compound bows) and black powder enthusiast. Highly experienced and qualified
professional hunters are contracted should more than one hunter wish to hunt at the
same time.
Hunting vehicles are four wheel drive, well maintained and fitted out with all the necessary
equipment, in order to make your safari a trouble free and unforgettable experience.
Although this is not a malaria infected area we recommend that clients take anti-malaria
prophylactics in the event of touring in other areas. No other vaccination is needed.
